Menkes Terawan Dorong Angka Kematian Corona di Papua Terus Ditekan

Menteri Kesehatan RI Terawan Agus Putranto dalam kunjungannya ke Port Numbay berpesan agar para tenaga medis terus bekerja keras menekan angka kematian akibat penularan virus corona atau Covid-19.

“Sebab yang jauh lebih penting adalah angka kematian. Selama angka ini terus bisa ditekan di bawah persentase angka dunia, itu sudah sangat luar biasa,” terang ia, di Jayapura. 

Menkes mengapresiasi kinerja tenaga kesehatan di Papua yang meski angka penularan tinggi, namun angka kematian sangat kecil dibandingkan nasional. Dimana ada 20 kematian dari total 2000-an kasus positif Covid-19.

Sehingga jika dipresentasekan, hanya sekitar satu persen lebih dibandingkan angka dunia.

“Kalau angka positif (tinggi) tergantung "tracing" atau penelusuran yang dilakukan. Dan hal tersebut juga sangat baik untuk menggambarkan penularan atau infeksi di daerah. Namun angka kematian penting untuk ditekan,” jelasnya lagi.

Menkes pada kesempatan itu juga mengimbau agar para tenaga medis di Papua dapat menjaga kesehatan dirinya dengan menjalankan protokol kesehatan saat menangani pasien.

Hal itu juga bertujuan untuk dapat menekan angka penularan di wilayahnya.

“Sebab jika protokol kesehatan terus baik oleh tenaga medis juga oleh pejabat dan masyarakat lalu angka penularan Covid-19 menurun, maka Papua dapat masuk menjadi kategori zona hijau,” ucapnya.

Sebelumnya, Menteri Kesehatan Terawan Putranto bersama Kepala BNPB Doni Monardo, Menteri Pemberdayaan Manusia dan Kebudayaan (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, Pangkogabwilhan III Letjen TNI Ganip Warsito serta rombongan Selasa (7/7) siang sekitar pukul 13.59 WIT tiba di Bandara Sentani, Kabupaten Jayapura, Papua.

Rombongan disambut Asisten Bidang Perekonomian dan Kesejahteraan Setda Provinsi Papua Muhammad Musa'ad, Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Mayjen TNI Herman Asaribab, Wakil Bupati Jayapura Giri Wijayantoro bersama Forkompimda, Danlanud Silas Papare Marsma TNI Dr. Budhi Achmadi, M.Sc, Kapolres Jayapura AKBP Dr. Victor D. Mackbon, SH, S.IK, MH, M.Si, dan pejabat lainnya.

Ikut dalam rombongan tersebut Wakil Ketua Komisi IX DPR RI Melky Laka L, Plt Deputi III Dody Ruswandi, Deputi V Prasinta, Pakar Prof. Wiku, Laksma TNI Ribut Eko dan 37 staf lainnya.

Indonesian Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto during his visit to Port Numbay advised the medical staff to continue to work hard to reduce mortality due to transmission of the corona virus or Covid-19.

"The most important reason is the mortality rate. It has been very remarkable as long as this figure continues to be suppressed under the percentage of world numbers, "he explained, in Jayapura.

The Minister of Health appreciates the performance of health workers in Papua despite high transmission rates, but the mortality rate is smaller than national rate which 20 deaths from a total of 2000s positive for Covid-19 case it means only about one percent more than world numbers.

“The high number of covid-19 positive patients depends on" tracing "or searching should be performed. And it is also very good to describe the transmission or infection in the area. But the death rate is important to be pressed," he explained again.

The Minister of Health on that occasion also urged that the medical staff in Papua can maintain their health by running health protocols when handling patients.

It also aims to suppress the number of transmission in the region.

"Because if the health protocol is kept good by the medical personnel also by the officials and the public and the number of transmission Covid-19 decreases, then Papua can enter into the category of green zones," he said.
