Kementerian LHK Programkan Penanaman 5.000 Bibit Mangrove di Papua

Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (LHK) pada tahun ini memprogramkan penanaman 5.000 bibit mangrove di sejumlah wilayah di Provinsi Papua.

Ada tiga kabupaten yang menjadi sasaran program Kementerian LHK bekerja sama dengan Dinas Kehutanan Provinsi Papua tersebut. Yakni Kabupaten Waropen, Merauke dan Jayapura. Sementara tujuan penanaman bibit tersebut dalam rangka pengentasan kemiskinan di tengah pandemi COVID-19. 

“Penanaman bibit mangrove sudah menjadi program dari dari Kementerian LHK untuk Papua tahun ini dimana da 5.000 bibit untuk ditanam di tiga kabupaten. Tentunya penanaman ini untuk merehablitasi hutan mangrove di seluruh wilayah Papua. Namun tahun ini terbatas pada tiga kabupaten,” terang Kepala Dinas Kehutanan Papua Yan Yaap Ormuseray, di Jayapura, Senin (25/1/2021).

Pada kesempatan itu, ia meminta dukungan semua pihak agar bisa mensukseskan program penanaman bibit mangrove tersebut. Sebab program rehabilitasi hutan Papua saat ini menjadi hal yang penting untuk digalakkan.

Selain program Kementerian LHK, sambung Ormuseray, Dinas Kehutanan Papua juga memiliki program serupa. Hanya saja, ia masih menunggu penyerahan Daftar Pelaksanaan Anggaran (DPA), untuk selanjutnya menentukan jumlah bibit pohon yang bakal ditanam. 

“Intinya, nanti dari DPA itu bisa dilihat berapa banyak pohon yang akan ditanam untuk rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan di seluruh Papua,” katanya.

Kendati demikian, Ormuseray katakan sebenarnya upaya rehabilitas hutan tak hanya menjadi tugas Kementerian LHK dan Dinas Kehutanan Provinsi Papua.  

Namun, rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan sebenarnya bukan tanggung jawab Pemerintah Daerah saja, Ada pula BPDASHL Mamberamo yang memiliki tupoksi lebih rutin melakukan rehabilitasi hutan.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK) this year programmed the planting of 5,000 mangrove seedlings in a number of areas in Papua Province.

There are three districts targeted by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in cooperation with the Papua Provincial Forest Service. Namely Waropen, Merauke and Jayapura. Meanwhile, the purpose of planting seeds is in order to alleviate poverty in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Mangrove seed planting has become a program from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for Papua this year where there are 5,000 seedlings to be planted in three districts. Of course, this planting is to rehabilitate mangrove forests throughout Papua. But this year is limited to three districts," explained Head of Papua Forest Service Yan Yaap Ormuseray, in Jayapura, Monday (1/25/2021).

On that occasion, he asked for the support of all parties in order to succeed the mangrove planting program. Papua's forest rehabilitation program is now an important thing to encourage.

In addition to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry program, Ormuseray continued, the Papua Forest Service also has a similar program. However, he is still waiting for the submission of the Budget Implementation List (DPA), to further determine the number of tree seedlings that will be planted.

"In essence, it can be seen how many trees will be planted for forest and land rehabilitation throughout Papua from the Budget Implementation List," he said.

Nevertheless, Ormuseray said that forest rehabilitation efforts are not only the duty of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Forest Service of Papua Province. 

However, forest and land rehabilitation is not actually the responsibility of the Local Government only, but there is also BPDASHL Mamberamo which has a more routine duty to conduct forest rehabilitation.
