Electricity supply during the implementation of National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua 2021 is ensured safe and fulfilled.
The guarantee was submitted by General Manager of State Electricity CompanyMain Unit of Papua & West Papua Regional, Abdul Farid, after receiving a visitation by PON Papua Committee, in his office, Thursday (9/24/2020).
He ensured that the power needs in the four areas of National Sports Week implementation, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency and Merauke Regency are sufficient.
Currently, State Electricity CompanyMain Unit of Papua and West Papua is working to build an underground cable network, so that the electricity supply in the four clusters of National Sports Week is not disrupted.
"If it is not safe, there will be lots of cables buried in the ground. So it is expected that the reliability of this electricity supply will increase during the implementation of PON," he explained.
Another important thing that State Electricity CompanyMain Unit of Papua and West Papua Regional prepare anticipation of electricity availability through mobile generator sets that will be placed in all venues of National Sports Week
"So with some of these scenarios, State Electricity Company is ready to succeed the National Sports Week," he said.
General Secretary of PON Papua, Elia Loupatty appreciated State Electricity Company performance in preparing the electricity network for the needs of the four-yearly event next year.
Therefore, it is increasingly confident that the implementation of National Sports Week in Papua will be more vibrant and it will not get any disruption in electricity supply availability.
"I think State Electricity Company Papua and West Papua Regional make us quite glad that the electricity supply has been ensured in 4 regions that will implement National Sports Week then there is improved reliability and back up through mobile generator sets".
"Therefore, we are grateful for PLN's efforts and we have no doubts about holding each venue of National Sports Week. The implementation of PON does not affect the electricity needs of households and shops." he said.
