The Health Office of Papua Province will soon train COVID-19 vaccinators.
The training is in order to complete the target of the vaccination program which is expected to be completed in Papua Province in March 2022.
"Our target is to be able to train as many as 4,000 Papuan health workers to become vaccinators until 2022".
"Why, because the target in Papua is the Covid-19 vaccination program, it is expected to be completed until March 2022," explained Secretary of the Papua Health Office, Arry Pongtiku in Jayapura, Thursday (1/14/2021).
He said that in the near future the health service is targeting 1,000 health workers who are trained as vaccinators. Then gradually until 2022, the health department targets to train as many as 4,000 health workers to be vaccinators.
"Surely these health workers will be trained to know the mechanism of Covid-19 vaccination as well as the cold chain of vaccines or Cold Chain".
"Because as vaccinators, they must also know the mechanism of the vaccination service system until the last table for observation of vaccine recipients for 30 minutes," he concluded.
Head of Disease Prevention and Control, Aaron Rumainum, confirmed that as many as 200 people in Jayapura City had previously been trained as vaccinators.
Hundreds of health workers now in charge of the Papua health office, health centers and health agencies in the Indonesian Army and Indonesian National Police.
"In the near future, there will be re-training for 100 health workers in Mimika Regency and 100 health workers in Jayapura Regency".
"The training plan for 200 health workers in Jayapura and Mimika districts will be held on January 18. But what is unique is that we train them virtually given the current pandemic situation that continues to rise," he concluded.
