The Papua Provincial Government officially issued a Homecoming Prohibition Rules all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and Government Employees with Employment Agreement (P3K) of Papua for the Eid Homecoming 2021 to their hometowns, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The travel ban is valid during the period, May 6 to May 17, 2021 or during Eid holidays.
According to the Regional Secretary of Papua, Dance Yulian Flassy, the ban has been published in a Circular letter that has now been passed by the district and municipal governments.
The ban is also a follow-up to the Circular Letter of the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms on restrictions on travel or homecoming activities for State Civil Apparatus during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The point is we don't want anyone to come out and come with the disease to Papua. So it is issued a ban for homecoming," said Regional Secretary, Sunday (18/4/2021).
Continued Regional Secretary, it is certain that they will receive severe disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the provisions of PP No.53 of 2010 and PP No.49 of 2018.
"Except maternity leave and sick leave. Then for State Civil Apparatus who travels for important tasks and accompanied by a letter of duty from the supervisor. Beyond that, it is not allowed and this prohibition applies also for Government Employees with Work Agreement," he said.
Still said Regional Secretary, this ban had previously been discussed with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Papua. As the result, they agreed to a ban for homecoming.
So for surveillance at the port and airport entrances, said Dance, will still be discussed in the following meeting, along with all the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Papua.
"To be sure, our duty now as citizens is to jointly eradicate the coronavirus".
"So, let's participate, including the media because it is our responsibility," he concluded.
