The Papua Provincial Government announced that 135 Indigenous Papuan (OAP) students have graduated from the Administration of Japanese Vocational Scholarship Program in 2021.
Announcement number 422.5/8271/SET on the Administrative Selection Results of Japan Vocational Scholarship Program 2021, signed by Assistant I of Regional Secretariat of Papua Government, Doren Wakerwa, SH on behalf of the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, S.IP, MH.
The content of the announcement is addressed to students from Papua who have passed the administrative selection stage in order to prepare to take the Academic Potential Test (TPA). The test implementation is conducted online on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 09.00 am until completion.
"Participants are required to check and read their respective emails and follow the instructions that have been prepared in them," the announcement said.
Head of Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of Papua Province, Aryoko AF Rumaropen, SP, M.Eng said that the Papua Provincial Government will open the registration and selection of Special Autonomy scholarships in 2021.
A total of 530 Papuan students will receive scholarships to participate in three educational programs, namely the Papua Superior Student Education Program (SUP), the Health Profession D-III Education Program and the Agricultural Vocational Education Program.
The Japan Agricultural Vocational Scholarship Program is open to Papuan students who graduate from High School (SMA) and Vocational High School (SMK) with a quota of 60 people.
Aryoko said that students who pass the vocational scholarship program will be sent to Fukuoka Japan. They will study the development of the agricultural industry.
"Fukuoka was chosen because it is one of the most advanced cities in Japan in the field of agricultural cultivation development, agricultural mechanization, agricultural industry and information technology management of modern agricultural resources," said Aryoko.
In addition, the university in Fukuoka has successfully developed vocational education in the field of natural resource management in the agricultural sector.
"Papua province also has a huge natural wealth and human resources with such expertise is needed to manage it. That's why we send Papuan students to study in Fukuoka," said Aryoko.
He added that the Papua Provincial Government scholarship program 2021 is not only for undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate education programs, but prioritizes vocational programs for an accredited level of expertise.
