The implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) is officially enforced throughout Papua Province.
This follows the publication of the Papua Governor's Circular Letter No. 440 / 8936 / SET on Community Activity Restrictions of COVID-19 with the validity period in 28 days, from 3 to 30 August 2021.
"Last Tuesday, the Governor of Papua signed a circular regarding Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions for Papua Province".
"Basically we implement Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions, following the instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 28 of 2021. Where three areas, namely Jayapura City, Merauke and Mimika Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions, while there are 9 districts on level 3 and 17 districts on level 2," explained Papua Governor Spokesman Muhammad Rifai Darus, in Jayapura, Wednesday (4/8/2021).
Rifai said, in relation to the determination of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions, the Governor of Papua wants to focus properly on the safety of the community.
Therefore, the Papua COVID-19 Task Force team is requested to work to the maximum with the relevant agencies, making efforts to tighten, safeguard, prevent and suppress the number of coronavirus transmission in Papua.
"The governor also requested monitoring and speeding up the vaccination process for people in Papua, especially the area or cluster implementation of National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XVI".
"Because the implementation of the multi-event is just counting the days," he explained.
According to Jubir Rifai requested that the border area be temporarily closed during the implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions.
Thus, it is expected that the transmission of COVID-19 during the period of Level 4 Community Activity Restriction can be reduced to a minimum.
