Boosting Papua MCP Score, The Corruption Eradication Commission Held Technical Guidance For Regional Administrators
JAYAPURA - The Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPK RI) did not stay silent in response to the low score of the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) of Papua Province, which includes eight intervention areas.
After meeting regional leaders and other stakeholders in order to increase supervision and prevention of corruption, the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia also held Technical Guidance filling MCP for regional administrators in 29 districts and cities in Papua.
Meanwhile, Technical Guidance for three days (24 to 26 November 2021) aims to provide assistance for MCP administrators in all districts and cities. With the hope of being able to increase the MCP score in eight Corruption Eradication Commission intervention areas for Papua Province.
The eight intervention areas are the planning and budgeting of the Regional Budget, procurement of goods and services, licensing, APIP supervision, State Civil Apparatus Management, optimization of regional taxes, regional asset management, and village financial management.
This is as said by Ismail Hindersah, The Head of the Task Force for the Directorate of Regional V of Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, on the sidelines of the Technical Guidance, to the press, Wednesday (11/24/2021), at the Hall of Papua Communication and Informatics Office, Jayapura City.
"Why is it called Technical Guidance, because MCP score in Papua is still small overall, so that the government encourages the increase of MCP through Technical Guidance this time to be able to increase the value or MCP score in all districts / cities which will certainly affect the achievement of MCP Papua province".
"So, each district and city MCP value will contribute overall to the province related to the 8 intervention areas summarized in the Monitoring Center for Prevention," he explained.
Nevertheless, he reminded the regional heads in Papua to be strongly committed to encouraging the increase in the score of MCP. Because all assistance carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission will be useless if it is not accompanied by active support from the regional head.
"The commitment of the head of the region is needed. They must have a vision and mission to build their area with the MCP program or improvement of the governance system in these 8 Corruption Eradication Commission intervention areas"
"But the commitment of the regional head alone is not enough. There must also be support of all stakeholders in the government.
The regional leader must show its seriousness. If it is not, the improvement of the management system is useless, "he concluded.
Meanwhile, 8 local governments were selected for the first day of MCP by Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, namely administrator of MCP in Jayapura, Asmat, Biak Numfor, Deiyai, Dogiyai, Jayawijaya, Mappi and Keerom. ***
