JAYAPURA - The Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries or DKP of Papua Province will announce capture fisheries statistics, which will be used by all parties (including investors) to invest in Papua.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of Papua, Iman Djuniawal to the press, after a meeting to determine the 2021 capture fisheries statistics and compiling the 2022 capture fisheries statistical data in the first semester of 2022 in Jayapura, Wednesday (15/6/2022).
In this regard, Iman also encouraged 16 districts/cities of coastal areas to record valid capture fisheries data.
Among them by planning as the need for competent data in their area.
"This means that all capabilities must be used considering that all marine potentials owned by Papua must be recorded properly"
"That's why planning is very necessary in an effort to increase and develop this potential," he said.
However, Iman admits that there are still many weaknesses in data retrieval, both due to lack of budget support and in terms of applications used in data collection.
"But that's actually a trigger for us to be encouraged to get competent data".
"That's why in the future we feel that there needs to be training for field officers, so it can be even more optimal in collecting data," he said. ***
