JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government through the Department of Social, Population and Civil Registration encourages the Regent and Mayor of Papua to fully support the acceleration of e-KTP recording in their area.
The Head of the Social, Population and Civil Registration Department of Papua, Rebekah Haluk also asked the political parties participating in the elections to help encourage sympathizers and residents in each of their regions, to record the e-KTP of the nearest civil registration office.
"So that we hope that the number of recording electronic ID cards can be better during the 2024 elections," explained Rebekah in Jayapura, Wednesday (10/8/2022).
Rebekah also hoped for the support of the security forces to oversee the recording of e-KTP, especially in conflict areas, such as in Nduga, Intan Jaya and Puncak Regencies.
"All areas have recording tools, but the office and the tools had been burned in Nduga. So, we do recording for the residents of Nduga in Wamena or Timika. This means that we ask for synergy from the relevant (security) parties to support this," she said.
Rebekah added that regional heads in 29 regencies and cities in Papua have the largest role in accelerating the recording of e-KTP ahead of the 2024 elections.
Moreover, the budget from the Ministry of Home Affairs for the recording of e-KTP is no longer disbursed to relevant agencies at the provincial and district and city levels. "So that the regional heads must be more responsible about budgeting of e-KTP recording".
"For this time, the heads of districts and cities must be the movers and drivers to prepare costs for e-KTP recording," she concluded. ***
