PMI Papua Siap Bantu Pemerintah Atasi Masalah Kemanusiaan

Genap usia ke-75 tahun, Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) Provinsi Papua memastikan tak hanya fokus memenuhi kebutuhan darah, namun siap membantu mengatasi masalah kemanusiaan yang terjadi di bumi cenderawasih.

“Pada waktu terjadi bencana banjir bandang Sentani, kami ikut turun membantu korban. Bahkan pada situasi Covid saat ini kami lebih dulu membagikan masker kepada masyarakat. Melakukan penyemprotan desinfektan di kantor dan sekolah.

“Ini bukti dan tanda kalau PMI di Papua tak hanya fokus pada kebutuhan darah. Tapi masalah kemanusiaan di Papua juga kami peduli, hingga kami pun mendapat reward 3 unit mobil dari bapak Jusuf Kalla selaku Ketua PMI Pusat,” terang Ketua Palang Merah Indonesia Provinsi Papua Yolanda Tinal di Jayapura, Kamis, disela-sela perayaan HUT organisasi kemanusiaan tersebut.

Menurut dia, PMI ingin hadir dekat dengan masyarakat, sebab kodrat lembaga tersebut yang ada untuk kebutuhan kemanusiaan. 

Bahkan dalam waktu dekat pihaknya ingin mendorong agar Pemprov Papua menganggarkan pembiayaan donor darah, supaya masyarakat yang mengambil di PMI, tak lagi di bebankan uang sepeser pun.

“Sebab ada laporan ke kami kalau masyarakat butuh satu kantong darah maka itu bisa gratis. Kedua pun demikian, nah kalau dia butuh diatas dua maka dibebankan sejumlah uang”. 

“Makanya, kedepan kami akan menghadap Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Papua guna membahas solusi agar ke depan masyarakat tidak perlu membayar lagi jika membutuhkan darah,” harap ia.

Diketahui, Palang Merah Indonesia Provinsi Papua merayakan HUT ke-75 di kantor Dok V Distrik Jayapura Utara, Kota Jayapura, Kamis (17/9) sore.

Hadir pula dalam syukuran kegiatan itu, Ketua PKK Provinsi Papua Yulce Enembe, Ketua PMI Provinsi Papua Yolanda Tinal, relawan dan pengurus PMI.

"At the time of the flash flood disaster in Sentani, we came down to help the victims. Even in the current situation of Covid-19. First, we share the masks to the public and conduct disinfectant spraying in offices and schools.

"This is evidence and a sign that The Indonesian Red Cross Society of Papua is not just focused on blood needs but also on humanitarian problems in Papua, until we get a reward of 3 units of car from Mr. Jusuf Kalla as the Head of the Central Indonesian Red Cross Society," explained the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross Papua Province Yolanda Tinal in Jayapura on Thursday, interrupted by the celebration of the anniversary of the humanitarian organization. 

According to her, The Indonesian Red Cross Society wants to be close to the community, because the nature of the institution exists for humanitarian needs. In the near future, they want to encourage the Papua Provincial Government to budget for blood donor funding, so that people who take the blood at The Indonesian Red Cross Society are no longer burdened with a penny.

Because there were reports that if the community needed a bag of blood it could be free. The second is the same, now if he needs more than two then he will be charged a certain amount of money

"Therefore, we will face the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua to discuss solutions so that in the future the community will not have to pay any more if we need blood," he hoped.

It is known that the Indonesian Red Cross of Papua Province celebrated the 75th anniversary at Dok V office of North Jayapura District, Jayapura City, Thursday (17/9) afternoon.

Chairman of PKK, Yulce Enembe, Chairman of Indonesian Red Cross Society Papua Provincial Yolanda Tinal, volunteers and managers of Indonesian Red Cross Society are also present at the event.
