Pemprov Papua Segera Dorong Vaksinasi COVID-19 bagi Atlet PON

Pemerintah Provinsi Papua segera mendorong pelaksanaan vaksinasi terhadap seluruh atlet bumi cenderawasih, yang akan berlaga di Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XX 2021, sebagaimana instruksi KONI Pusat.

Penegasan ini disampaikan Sekda Papua Dance Yulian Flassy, usai bertemu para Kepala OPD di lingkungan Pemerintah Provinsi, Senin (22/3/2021) petang.

“Ada ribuan atlet yang belum di vaksin. Ini yang akan kita genjot (di Papua) karena sebuah persyaratan untuk bisa ikut di PON. Bahkan masyarakat wajib,” terang dia.

Sekda katakan dalam waktu yang tidak terlalu lama pula, dirinya akan mengundang pihak PB PON dan KONI Papua untuk bersinergi terkait pelaksanaan vaksinasi tersebut.  

Pertemuan juga membicarakan persiapan pelaksanaan PON yang tetap digelar pada 2 s/d 15 Oktober 2021, sebagaimana penegasan Presiden Jokowi.

“Intinya, 1 atau 2 bulan sebelum PON para atlet Papua ini sudah harus di vaksin. Juga termasuk ofisial dan masyarakat sekitar venue. Begitu pula kita akan selektif agar para atlet dan ofisial yang bakal datang ke Papua, semuanya wajib sudah divaksin,” pungkas dia.

Sebelumnya, dari hasil pertemuan PB PON Papua bersama KONI Pusat di Jakarta beberapa waktu lalu, mewajibkan semua peserta PON XX 2021, wajib mengikuti vaksin COVID-19, sebelum menjejakkan kakinya di Bumi Cenderawasih.

Menurut Wakil Ketua KONI Pusat yang juga Ketua Panwasrah PON XX Papua, Suwarno, tak hanya atlet dan ofisial dari masing-masing provinsi, panitia pelaksana PON XX di Papua serta masyarakat sekitar venue pun  wajib mendapat vaksin COVID-19. 

Hal demikian agar pelaksanaan PON pada 2 s/d 15 Oktober 2021 mendatang, tidak menjadi klaster baru penularan COVID-19.

Suwarno juga meminta seluruh KONI masing-masing provinsi, berkoordinasi dengan pemerintah daerahnya agar, baik atlet maupun ofisial bisa segera di vaksin.

Karena waktu pelaksanaan PON XX sudah semakin dekat. Sehingga di sisa waktu saat ini, dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melengkapi hal-hal yang kurang.

The Papua Provincial Government immediately encouraged the vaccination of all athletes, who will compete in National Sports Week XX 2021, as instructed by Central KONI.

This affirmation was conveyed by Regional Secretary Dance Yulian Flassy to the press, after meeting the Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations in the Provincial Government, Monday (3/22/2021) evening.

"There are thousands of athletes who have not been vaccinated. This is what we will encourage (in Papua) because of a requirement to be able to participate in National Sports Week. Even society is mandatory," he explained.

The Regional Secretary said that in the not too long time, he will invite the National Sports Week Committee and KONI Papua to synergize related to the implementation of vaccinations.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the implementation of National Sports Week which will still be held on 2 to 15 October 2021, as affirmed by President Jokowi.

"The point is, 1 or 2 months before National Sports Week, Papuan athletes already have to be vaccinated. It also includes officials and the community around the venue. Similarly, we will be selective so that the athletes and officials who will come to Papua must have been vaccinated," he concluded.

Previously, from the results of the meeting of the National Sports Week Committee of Papua with Central KONI in Jakarta some time ago, all participants of National Sports Week XX 2021 must follow the COVID-19 vaccines, before coming to Papua.

According to the Vice Chairman of Central KONI who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees National Sports Week XX Papua, Suwarno, not only athletes and officials from each province, the organizing committee and the community around the venue must also get the COVID-19 vaccines.

This is so that the implementation of National Sports Week on 2 to 15 October 2021 will not become a new cluster of COVID-19 transmission.

Suwarno also asked all KONI of each province, coordinating with the local government so that both athletes and officials can be immediately vaccinated.

The implementation of National Sports Week XX is getting closer so that in the rest of the current time, it can be utilized to complement things that are lacking.
