JAYAPURA - Papua Regional Secretary Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun hopes that the people of Papua will be more financially literate and understand financial management, such as insurance, credit loans and investments.
Thus in the future, people no longer experience losses or fall into financial problems, including illegal online loans.
"Therefore, we thank the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Papua together with financial services institutions in Papua, which have cooperated and synergized to improve inclusion and financial literacy for the people of Papua"
"Hopefully, through this activity, the business community and investment startup enthusiasts, MSME entrepreneurs, and the general public better understand financial management for a more prosperous future," explained the Secretary, when opening a cool chat webinar about financial literacy (Nokenku), which is a national movement on financial literacy, at the Hall of Communication and Informatics Office, Tuesday (11/30/2021).
According to him, with the launch of industry 4.0 in Indonesia by the President of Indonesia, the development of communication networks in Indonesia began to be very rapid. Where one of them, the development of illegal online loans is rife.
Not to mention, the level of literacy or public knowledge about finance / finance in Indonesia is only 38.03 percent. This indicates that many consumers of the financial services sector, have not fully understood the benefits and risks of rights as consumers.
The same thing also happened in Papua, the level of financial literacy in Papua is still at 30 percent.
"The point is that through this webinar we hope that the level of literacy and inclusion (utilization of financial products or services) in Papua and West Papua which was relatively low, now it’s better. So that in the future the community in the use of financial services products can be more optimal and the economy and welfare increase," he said.
Meanwhile, acting as a speaker in the Nokenku Webinar activities included the Head of OJK Papua and West Papua Adolf Simanjuntak, Special Staff of President Billy Mambrasar and Head of Communication and Informatics Department of Papua, Jeri Agus Yudianto. ***
