SEMARANG – The Papuan contingent that will compete in the 2023 Central Java Korpri National Sports Week (Pornas), Tuesday (11/7/2023) afternoon, arrived in Semarang City, Central Java Province.
The group of 131 people, consisting of athletes and officials, was welcomed by representatives of the local provincial government, upon arrival at General Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang, Tuesday afternoon.
The welcome was marked by the laying of a scarf typical of the local area, by the Secretary of the Public Works Office of Bina Marga Cipta Karya of Central Java Province, Ali Huda, to the Head of the Korpri Papua Contingent, Aaron Rumainum, witnessed by the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri A. Yudianto and his entourage.
After the welcome, the Korpri Papua Contingent was then gathered at the MG Setos Semarang Ballroom, to get a briefing.
Head of the Korpri Papua Contingent, Aaron firmly requested that the athletes can maintain health and fitness ahead of the competition in the next few days.
"Get enough rest, maintain health and fitness so that you can show your best performance during the competition," he urged.
The Korpri Papua contingent is scheduled to attend the Welcome Dinner at 18.00 local time at Lawang Sewu, Jl. Pemuda, Sekayu, Semarang City.
The opening of Pornas Korpri Central Java will be on Friday (14/7/2023) at 18.00 at Jatidiri GOR, Karangrejo, Gajahmungkur, Semarang City. Meanwhile, the closure of Pornas Korpri is on Friday (21/7/2023) at 16.00 Western Time Zone.
Papua Province in the 2023 Pornas event will compete in five sports, namely volleyball, field tennis, futsal, basketball and Korpri gymnastics. ***
