JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun authorized the management of the local Indigenous Women and Children Protection Empowerment Institute (LP3A2), in Jayapura City, Tuesday (30/4/2024).
Filled by indigenous Papuan women, the existence of the institution received appreciation from Governor Ridwan.
LP3A2 mass organizations are believed not only to take care of protection for women and children but will be a "helper" for men engaged in the government sector because they know better where this province must be built from.
"We (the government in Papua) can develop well if we involve mamas (women). They know best how to start good planning, and that starts at home."
"Therefore, if you want a better government, (you must) work together with the indigenous mothers and the church because they know best where we build it."
Ridwan gave an example of the existence of schools in villages that were built but became problematic in some places. However, the involvement of indigenous mamas (women) has made the learning and teaching process in the school now run as it should.
Therefore, he asked the local Village Community Empowerment Office (DPMK) to involve LP3A2 Papua during the implementation of special Development Planning Deliberation in Tabi and Saireri areas.
That way, it can accommodate the aspirations of relevant parties including local indigenous women to further produce a directed program for the progress of Papua in general.
"The existence of this institution is once again very important so Ipersonally on behalf of the government give high appreciation to the MRP Chairman who was able to initiate the establishment of LP3A2 Papua."
"This is a strength that we have and today together we can collaborate to build Papua," he concluded. ***
