JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government through the local Education Office appreciates the efforts of Indonesia Education Partnerships which have consistently over the past 10 years, helped the indigenous Papuan students to continue their studies abroad.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Papua Education Office Christian Sohilait, after receiving a visit by Indonesia Education Partnerships Brook Williams Ross, MA, MBA in his office, on Monday (29/4/2024).
According to Christian Sohilait, this form of concern is exemplary for parties in the country. Because it has a noble goal, to raise the dignity of the citizens of Cenderawasih Earth, through education.
"Therefore, there are other people who have a heart for education in Papua. And they are not Indonesians, they are people outside Indonesia who care about education in Papua," he said
Still, according to Sohilait, the institution has been working with the Papua Regional Government. The existence of the New Autonomous Region creates few funding or budgeting problems so the process is a little hampered.
Nevertheless, the institution, through the leadership of Mr. Brook Williams Ross, is still consistent in helping students from Papua abroad.
"Until now they are still helping students who study in the United States so that in the future the local governments see that there are important needs."
"First. We still have to help students who are going abroad so we must be prepared. We also want them to help us and students for character manners," he said.
Indonesia Education Partnerships has previously helped provide management training. Mr. Brook Williams Ross and colleagues have so far helped as many as 75 students from Papua. ***
