JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Major General (Ret.) Ramses Limbong ensured that he was ready to carry out the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs, completing some "homework" after being inaugurated on Monday (5/8/2024), in Jakarta.
In an official statement received by the editor, Acting Governor Limbong ensured to immediately solve some problems that awaited, even though he was in the middle of the work program that had been running.
"According to what the Minister of Home Affairs said, there are several things that are emphasized that must be implemented immediately."
"Of course, we don't run away from that, my position is in the middle of the Regional Budget process or the work program is already running, I will adjust to produce something effective, efficient and right in the rest of this fiscal year," said Limbong.
Questioning the issue of civil servants, Limbong ensured that it would be resolved with all related parties.
Meanwhile, for financial problems, he continued, a solution will be found immediately to solve them. However, if it is still "in place", it should be coordinated with the Minister of Home Affairs as soon as possible to ask for suggestions and inputs as well as solutions.
"The point is that we will study the financial problem and coordinate with the central government (Minister of Home Affairs). If there is no solution, we will report approximately what the suggestions and inputs are. We ask for instructions on what kind of (solution)," he said.
Finally, for the implementation of the Regional Elections, Limbong advised all civil servants to be neutral, because there are strict sanctions for those involved in one of the candidates for regional heads or political parties.
"That way, I hope that the Regional Elections will be safe and smooth and produce leaders who are loved by the Papuan people. And I will carry it out together with the Regional Apparatus Organization of Papua Provincial Government and the community," he added.
As the Acting Governor of Papua, Limbong also ensured that he would focus on handling community welfare, and health (stunting). Including paying attention to people living in border areas. "Because the border is our front porch. How is the life of the people there, whether it is worth living, we will study it and find a solution," he said.
