JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong hopes that the swimming championship will foster new swimming talents. Ramses Limbong expressed this hope while attending the swimming championship held at the Lukas Enembe Aquatic Stadium in Sentani on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
The championship, which was held for two days from February 22 and 23, is the first swimming championship to be held in 2025. "The results of this championship are not qualitatively maximum, but quantitatively it is quite good, around 280 swimmers are participating in this championship," said Limbong.
We will initiate this event regularly to be more structured. Our venue is quite good, so we can hold the national championship regionally in Maluku and Papua, hope Limbong.
Limbong appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants who were so high, and the participants of the championship looked happy. "The joy displayed will certainly bring positive things in the environment and in the study," said Limbong.
Limbong emphasized that activities like swimming should not stop here. "Day by day, we must strive to ensure that the existing clubs continue training their athletes in regular championships so that they can eventually compete at the national level," he said. ***
