JAYAPURA — Following the visit of the Governor of Papua on Saturday, 22 November 2025, the Papua Provincial Government, through the Department of Communication and Informatics, installed Starlink internet access at the Camar Auxiliary Health Center in Kayo Pulau Village.
The installation took place on Tuesday (25/11/2025) and became immediately operational for healthcare workers and residents. The presence of Starlink provides a much-needed connectivity solution for the Kayo Pulau community.
The Head of the ICT Division at the Papua Communications Office, Thomas Sibi, explained that the installation of Starlink internet was a rapid follow-up to the governor’s directive to improve healthcare services and public access to information.
“We hope that this free internet access will not only support healthcare services at Camar Health Center but will also be utilized by the residents of Kayo Pulau Village for communication, education, and daily activities,” said Thomas Sibi.
With the availability of high-speed internet, Camar Health Center can now carry out digital health reporting, teleconsultations, and faster coordination with other healthcare facilities.
For the community, this facility creates new opportunities to access public services, educational resources, and even participate in digital economic activities.
The Papua Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to expanding Starlink installations as part of its efforts to accelerate digital transformation in Papua. ***
