JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua Province ensures that the implementation of the 2020 Population Census Long Form (LF SP2020) in 29 regencies and cities will start from May 15 to June 30, 2022.
This certainty was conveyed by the Sub-Coordinator of the Dissemination Function and Statistics Service of Papua Central Statistics Agency, Ikfina Chairani in Jayapura on Thursday.
"There are two stages in the implementation of LF SP2020. The first stage is to update to make sure the population data is still the same, and then the second stage is to draw samples from 16 households."
"Then in this upgrade stage officers will visit each house to make sure that it is still the same resident, after which we draw samples from 16 households in full using the C2 questionnaire," she said.
The implementation of the SP2022 LF, which was delayed due to the transmission of COVID-19, will record 121,200 household samples in 7,575 census blocks. LF SP2022 is more about knowing the social demographic conditions.
While the collection of data later does not involve the entire community. The BPS Papua team only took a few samples in a number of households in a region.
"Even so, it is hoped that the data collected can estimate the social and demographic conditions of the population in Papua".
"And of course we hope that all people selected in the survey can accept BPS officers, so that we can give a more accurate picture," he said.
BPS collaborates with BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) to conduct research related to social demographic conditions in Papua.
The results of the implementation of the SP2020 LF are believed to be very useful for policy determination in the social population field. Such as employment information, disability and housing. ***
