NABIRE - The indigenous people of Wate donated 75 hectares of land for the construction of the Central Papua governor's office.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, John Wempi Watipo said this was as support and enthusiasm of the community.
"The support from the community to accelerate the construction of the New Autonomous Regions (DOB) is beyond expectations, our team from Jakarta did not think about this kind of readiness. Because what happened was beyond our expectations, including the Regent's official house, which will be used by the Acting Governor," he told reporters while reviewing the construction site of the Central Papua governor's office located in Karadiri II, Wanggar District, Monday (25/7/2022), as released by the editor.
The former Regent of Jayawijaya assessed that this readiness would be a strong basis for carrying out public services, especially to prepare the DOB in the Central Papua region to run well.
"I honestly and the team that came were very satisfied, especially the welcome and enthusiasm of the community, which was very extraordinary, became a spirit for us to drive the development program," he said.
With this readiness, his party is optimistic that the development process can run well because, with the support of the community, it is a motivation.
"For us, if the community is already supportive. The government must support it so that all processes can run well," he said.
In the same place, Assistant I for Government Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretary, Doren Wakerkwa admitted that the Papua Provincial Government appreciated and supported the three DOB in Papua.
"Therefore, we come to Nabire to see the development and enthusiastically the community supports the expansion," he said.
It seems that the people have a huge willingness to accept this province.
"We hope that in the future all people in Central Papua will unite to advance it," he explained.
On this occasion, he appreciated Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Watipo for handing over assets and reviewing the construction site of the Central Papua governor's office.
"We hope that the Papuan people will unite to build ourselves in the three of DOB," he said again.
He added that after visiting Nabire, we will continue to Jayawijaya and Merauke.
"We will continue to Jayawijaya and Merauke, hopefully these three provinces will really be able to build themselves towards the welfare of their people, especially indigenous Papuans," he said. ***
