JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun inaugurated the Sago Flour Processing Unit (UPH) and Sago Planting of the Joint Business Group (KUBE) of Mabers Phuyaka, in Kampung Sereh, Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Wednesday (26/6/2024).
The Governor was accompanied by the Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, the Acting Chairman of the Papua PKK and the Head of the relevant Regional Apparatus Organization.
Ridwan on this occasion appreciated the local joint business group for initiative and hard work in realizing the processing unit.
"This is an example of collaboration and cooperation that can produce great benefits for society."
"I hope that with the inauguration of the Sago Flour Processing Unit, the community can be more motivated to develop the potential of local agriculture and plantations," he said.
Ridwan added that the Papua Provincial Government will continue to support community empowerment efforts through training, equipment assistance, and market access.
He invited allparties in Papua to innovate and work together in advancing the agricultural and plantation sectors in Papua.
"With a strong spirit of cooperation and synergy, we are confident that Papua can achieve food independence and better welfare for all its people," he said.
Sentani Traditional Leader, Jayapura Regency, Ondofolo Yanto Eluay welcomed the presence of the Acting Governor of Papua who has absorbed and realized the aspirations of the community to develop the public economy.
"It is extraordinary that the Acting Governor always comes to listen and realize community needs. So that the presence of UPH Sago is expected to improve the economy of the local indigenous people."
"The point is that we as traditional leaders hope that we will continue to collaborate between the customs and the government, and at least through this program we can continue to build the welfare of the Papuan people," he hoped.
Meanwhile, after the inauguration of the Processing Unit, the Acting Governor of Papua planted trees around Kampung Sereh, Sentani, Jayapura Regency. ***
