It aims to strengthen inter-institutional synergy to promote a transparent, accountable licensing system conducive to investment while enhancing corruption prevention in regional licensing sectors.
The Acting Governor emphasized that the Memorandum of Understanding is a crucial step to address various licensing barriers that could hinder investment processes in the regions.
“We must optimize every effort to resolve licensing obstacles while building strong inter-agency coordination to prevent potential corruption that harms our regions,” said Ramses Limbong.
He further instructed relevant provincial agencies overseeing licensing, including the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, Investment, and One-Stop Integrated Services (ESDM, PM & PTSP), to work professionally and responsively, especially in addressing ongoing structural challenges related to nomenclature.
“I urge related agencies to swiftly evaluate the best solutions to nomenclature issues to avoid disruptions in public services, particularly in licensing. Services must continue smoothly and by existing regulations,” he asserted.
As a follow-up to this socialization, the Acting Governor also stressed the importance of forming a Coordination Team for Licensing Oversight at the regional level. This team will ensure that all licensing requirements, standards, fees, timelines, and procedures comply with applicable regulations.
The Papua Provincial Government remains committed to accelerating governance reforms in licensing and fully supporting anti-corruption efforts to create a healthy and competitive business climate. ***
