JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Agus Fatoni, led a joint assembly of civil servants within the Papua Provincial Government. The assembly was held in the courtyard of the Papua Governor’s Office in Jayapura on Monday (October 6, 2025).
In his remarks, Fatoni emphasized that the joint assembly was not merely a routine activity but also an important platform to strengthen coordination, share information, and foster unity and solidarity among civil servants.
“This assembly serves as a forum to share updates on regulations and current developments, while also strengthening friendship and unity. I hope this event nurtures the spirit of togetherness and solidarity,” Fatoni said.
Fatoni expressed his appreciation to all civil servants who have worked diligently, professionally, and with integrity and neutrality in performing their duties. He gave special recognition to civil servants who contributed to the successful implementation of the re-voting in Papua, which was carried out safely, orderly, and peacefully.
“We appreciate all civil servants who actively participated in ensuring the success of the recent re-voting. This success is the result of our collective effort. Civil servants have demonstrated commendable professionalism and neutrality. The minimal number of complaints shows that our civil servants are becoming more mature in practicing democracy,” Fatoni stated.
“We have shown the people of Indonesia and the world that Papua can be a model of safe and successful democratic practice. Various media outlets have also commended Papua’s democratic performance,” he added.
Fatoni further stressed the importance of loyalty to leadership and organizational hierarchy, particularly in light of the leadership transition ahead of the inauguration of the new Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua.
“We must be ready to welcome new leadership. Whoever the leaders are, civil servants must remain loyal, professional, and perform optimally. Organizational loyalty must be upheld at every level—from the lowest to the highest,” Fatoni asserted.
He also encouraged civil servants to continually improve their capacity, competence, and performance through self-development activities such as training, workshops, seminars, and webinars.
“Civil servants must keep learning, broadening their knowledge, and maintaining integrity, loyalty, and discipline. Let’s enhance governance, management, and financial systems to deliver better public services,” he urged.
Concluding his remarks, Fatoni called on all civil servants to uphold solidarity, strengthen their commitment, and work together for the advancement of Papua. ***
