DPPAD Papua Minta SMA di Sarmi Tetap Tampung Seluruh Pendaftar

Dua Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kabupaten Sarmi dinyatakan kewalahan menerima siswa baru tahun ajaran 2020/2021, Manajemen sekolah pun mesti menambah ruangan baru bahkan membuka tenda untuk menampung para pelajar.

Menyikapi hal demikian, Dinas Pendidikan, Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah (DPPAD) Papua meminta agar seluruh siswa tetap ditampung meski harus menambah ruang baru.

“Saya sudah perintahkan SMA YPPK dan SMA N 1 Sarmi untuk menambah ruangan agar seluruh siswa bisa diterima”.

“Seluruh lulusan SMP harus bisa ditampung di sekolah SMA, pada situasi Covid-19 saat ini. Begitu pula semua anak-anak SD harus bisa ditampung di sekolah SMP. Sambil menunggu DPPAD Papua melakukan perbaikan-perbaikan di sekolah ,” terang Kepala DPPAD Papua Christian Sohilat, Senin (13/7/2020). 

Mantan Sekda Lanny Jaya itu, mengatakan sebenarnya Kabupaten Sarmi memiliki tiga sekolah menegah atas. Hanya saja para orang tua murid lebih memilih mendaftarkan anaknya di SMA Negeri 1 dan YPPK, yang dinilai sebagai sekolah unggulan. 

Oleh karenanya, dia meminta kedepan agar pihak sekolah memberlakukan sistem zonasi, agar masyarakat bisa masuk ke sekolah-sekolah yang dekat dengan domisili siswa. 

Sementara untuk jangka panjang, pihaknya akan mendorong supaya sekolah tidak unggul, diubah citranya menjadi lembaga pendidikan yang baik.

“Makanya kita sedang susun indikatornya, supaya semua sekolah punya citra yang sama unggul. Diantaranya sekolah itu manajemennya harus terbuka. Kemudian sarana harus tersedia. SDM tenaga pengajar harus lengkap dan tak rangkap”.

“Terakhir kondisi sekolahnya mesti ada perpustakaan, ruang belajar dan sistem teknologi informasi. Kalau semua sekolah sudah begitu pasti kita optimis tak ada lagi sekolah unggulan karena semua memiliki citra yang sama,” kata dia.

Sebelumnya, Wakil Ketua II DPR Papua, Edoardus Kaize, SS meminta instansi terkait di provinsi untuk turun tangan dan proaktif menuntaskan persoalan membludaknya pendaftar siswa baru di dua SMA Kabupaten Sarmi.

The former Regional Secretary of Lanny Jaya, said in fact Sarmi Regency has three schools to have a high level. Only the parents prefer to enroll their children in SMA Negeri 1 and YPPK, which are considered to be excellent schools.

Therefore, he asked for the school to enforce the zoning system, so that people can enter schools that are close to the student's domicile.

While for the long term, he will encourage schools to change their image into good educational institutions.

"So we are stacking the indicator, so that all schools have a similar image of excellence. Among them the school management must be open. Then the means must be available.  The human resources must be completed".

"The last, school condition must have a library, study room and information technology system. If all schools are so surely we are optimistic that there is no more excellent school because all of them have the same image, "he said.

Previously, the Vice Chairman II of the House of Representatives of Papua, Edoardus Kaize, SS asked the relevant authorities in the province to intervene and proactively completed the issue of the enrollment of new students at two of Senior High School in Sarmi.
