Jokowi : Talenta Papua Footbal Academy Dapat Pendidikan Formal

JAYAPURA - Presiden Jokowi resmi meluncurkan Papua Football Academy, pada Rabu (31/8/2022) pagi di Stadion Lukas Enembe, Kabupaten Jayapura. 

Jokowi memastikan para talenta muda yang sudah direkrut itu, akan mendapat pendidikan formal selain berlatih tehnik sepakbola. 

Termasuk yang tak kalah penting adalah pembentukan karakter yang nantinya mendorong mereka menjadi percaya diri, kompetitif dan sportif dalam bersepakbola, tetapi juga pintar dalam bidang akademik.

"Mereka akan tetap sekolah, sehingga diharapkan jadi pemain (sepakbola) yang memiliki jiwa pecaya diri kuat, karakter kompetitif yang sportif, tapi juga pandai dan pintar,"

Senada disampaikan Presiden Direktur PT. Freeport Indonesia Tony Wenas. Football Academy, lanjut dia, tak hanya akan melatih secara teknis mengenai permainan sepakbola. Tetapi ada kegiatan akademik serta pembentukan karakter hingga berjiwa nasionalis.

"Karena ini sudah menjadi komitmen PTFI untuk tumbuh dan berkembang dengan masyarakat Papua, diantaranya bidang olahraga," tandasnya.

Diketahui, Papua Football Academy merupakan sekolah bagi putra Papua untuk mengasah bakal sepakbola dan pendidikan formal guna menjadi individu sehat, sportif, kompetitif dan ungggul.

Mereka nantinya berkesempatan mengikuti program selama dua tahun dan mendapat beasiswa penuh untuk berlatih sepakbola dan pendidikan formal. 

Selain itu, para peserta Papua Football Academy yang direkrut akan mendapat fasilitas asrama dan sarana berlatih di Mimika Sports Complex yang dibangun PTFI. ***

Jokowi ensured that the young talents who had been recruited would receive formal education in addition to practicing football techniques.

Including no less important is the formation of character that later encourages them to become confident, competitive and sportive in their relationship, but also smart in the academic field.

"They will still be in school, so they are expected to be (football) players who have a strong self-determination spirit, a sportive competitive character, but also smart and smart,"

Similarly conveyed by the President Director of PT. Freeport Indonesia Tony Wenas. Football Academy, he continued, will not only train technically about the game of football. But there are academic activities as well as character building to a nationalist spirit.

"Because this has become PTFI's commitment to grow and develop with the Papuan people, including the field of sports," he said.

It is known that the Papua Football Academy is a school for Papuan sons to hone football and formal education to become healthy, sportive, competitive and excels individuals.

They will have the opportunity to join the program for two years and get a full scholarship to practice football and formal education. 

In addition, the Papua Football Academy participants who are recruited will receive dormitory facilities and training facilities at the Mimika Sports Complex built by PTFI. ***
