BKI Papua Sumbang 28 Medali di Fornas

PALEMBANG - Kontingen Papua dari induk olahraga Beladiri Kempo Indonesia (BKI), menyumbang total 28 medali di penghujung Festival Olahraga Rekreasi Nasional (Fornas) VI, Palembang, Sumatera Selatan, Kamis (7/7/2022).

Bertanding di GOR Ranau Jakabaring, tim Papua meraih 9 emas, 9 perak dan 10 perunggu.  

Edison, pelatih tim BKI Papua mengaku sangat bangga dengan penampilan para anak asuhnya. Sebab hasil yang diraih, melebihi target yang ditetapkan KORMI Papua, meski tampil tak di semua nomor.

“Kita hanya turun dengan 14 pegiat. Tapi hasilnya sungguh diluar dugaan. Dari target 3 emas, justru bisa bawa pulang 9 emas. Sehingga ini hasil yang sangat luar biasa,” kata dia, usai pertandingan.

Edison optimis dengan hasil positif tersebut, anak asuhnya bakal lebih berprestasi di Fornas VII Jawa Barat, tahun depan. 

“Sebab untuk persiapan nanti kita akan lakukan seleksi tingkat junior dan senior. Kemudian pada Oktober 2022, kita akan coba tru out ke kejuaraan kempo tingkat Asia di Bandung”.

“Dimana pada kejuaraan kali ini, kita akan lihat perkembangan pegiat dari daerah lain untuk dijadikan evaluai jelang Fornas Jawa Barat,” tuntasnya.

Sementara medali 9 medali emas Papua dari beladiri kempo dihasilkan dari nomor kata, fighting semi kempo dan full kempo. ***

PALEMBANG - The Papuan contingent from the sport Kempo Indonesia (BKI), contributed a total of 28 medals at the end of the VI National Recreation Sports Festival (Fornas), Palembang, South Sumatra, Thursday (7/7/2022).

Competing at GOR Ranau Jakabaring, the Papuan team won 9 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze.

Edison, the coach of the BKI Papua team, admitted that he was very proud of the performances of players. Because the results achieved, exceeded the target set by KORMI Papua, although not in all numbers.

"We only have 14 activists. But the result was really unexpected. From the target of 3 gold medals, it can actually get 9 gold medals. So this is a very remarkable result," he said, after the game.

Edison is optimistic that with these positive results, the players will be more accomplished at VII Fornas West Java, next year.

"For preparations, we will make selections at the junior and senior levels. Then in October 2022, we will try out for the Asian Level Kempo championship in Bandung".

"In this championship, we will see the development of players from other regions to be used as evaluation ahead of the Fornas in West Java," he concluded.

While the 9 gold medals from Papuan Kempo are produced from word numbers, fighting semi Kempo and full Kempo. ***
