Papua Utus Delapan Pelajar Ikut Olimpade Olahraga Siswa SMK 2023

JAYAPURA – Pemerintah Provinsi Papua mengutus delapan pelajar mengikuti Olimpiade Olahraga Siswa Nasional SMK 2023 di Jakarta 10 September s/d 16 September 2023. 

Delapan peserta dari Papua tersebut merupakan perwakilan dari 6 SMK setempat, yang nantinya turun pada cabang olahraga Karate, Renang, Bulu Tangkis serta atletik. 

Kepala Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Kominfo) Papua, Jeri A. Yudianto berharap para pelajar yang diutus, mampu menunjukkan prestasi terbaik. Pun begitu, dia berharap mereka dapat menjaga nama baik Provinsi Papua saat berkompetisi.

“Yang terpenting adalah menjunjung tinggi sportivitas disamping meraih prestasi terbaik. Karena menjaga nama baik daerah itu juga tak kalah penting,” ucap ia.

Diketahui, Olimpiade Olahraga Siswa Nasional SMK 2023 merupakan program Kemendikbud RI. Dimana Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Papua sebagai leading sektor di tingkat provinsi, bertugas melakukan seleksi sedari tingkat kabupaten dan kota.

Para pelajar pun dilepas oleh Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayan Papua Christian Sohilatin, Kamis lalu.

Sohilait dalam keterangannya berharap para pelajar tersebut mampu menunjukkan prestasi. Sebab harapannya kedepan, para anak muda itu, akan menjadi calon pimpinan di masa depan.

“Serta yang utama mampu bersaing di semua lapisan, tidak hanya di tingkat lokal, tapi juga nasional bahkan internasional,” tandasnya. ***

JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government sent eight students to participate in Jakarta's 2023 SMK National Student Sports Olympiad from September 10 to September 16, 2023.

The eight participants from Papua were representatives of 6 local vocational schools, which would later participate in Karate, Swimming, Badminton and athletics.

Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Service, Jeri A. Yudianto hopes that the students sent will be able to show the best performance. Even so, he hopes they can maintain the good name of Papua Province when competing.

"The most important thing is to uphold sportsmanship in addition to the best achievements. Because maintaining the good name of the region is important," he said.

It is known that the 2023 SMK National Student Sports Olympiad is a program of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. The Education and Culture Office of Papua, as the leading sector at the provincial level, is tasked with conducting selections from the district and city levels.

The students were released by the Head of the Papua Education and Culture Office Christian Sohilatin last Thursday.

Sohilait in his statement hoped that the students would be able to show achievement. Because these young people will become leadership candidates in the future.

"And the main thing is being able to compete at all levels, not only at the local level but also nationally and even internationally," he said. ***
