Penjabat Gubernur Papua Ramses Limbong hadir langsung memberikan semangat langsung kepada para atlet yang akan berlaga jelang penutupan Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XXI di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara 2024. Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong was present to give direct encouragement to the athletes who will compete ahead of the closing of the XXI National Sports Week (PON) in Aceh and North Sumatra 2024.
MEDAN - Penjabat Gubernur Papua Ramses Limbong hadir langsung memberikan semangat langsung kepada para atlet yang akan berlaga jelang penutupan Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XXI di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara 2024.
Gubernur tiba di Bandara Kualanamu Medan, Rabu (18/9/2024), disambut tarian Tor-Tor oleh panitia PON setempat.
Gubernur Limbong berharap dengan sisa waktu pertandingan yang ada, para atlet dapat menambah perolehan medali yang ada. Dimana untuk saat per 17 September 2024, Provinsi Papua berada di ranking 13 dengan total perolehan 44 medali.
“Bapak Gubernur sudah menginjakkan kaki di Medan siang tadi, dalam rangka mengikuti upacara Penutupan PON XXI aceh Sumut 2024 yang akan dihelat 2 hari kedepan.”
“Gubernur sengaja datang H-2 sebelum penutupun, untuk memberikan semangat pada duta olahraga Papua yang sedang bertanding,” terang Kepala Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Papua Jeri A. Yudianto.
Masih menurut Jeri, Pj Gubernur bangga dengan prestasi yang ditunjukkan atlet pasca pemekaran provinsi.
Disamping hal itu, Gubernur Limbong memberikan apresiasi dan ucapan terima kasih kepada selurug kontingen Papua pada PON XXI yang dengan gigih membawa nama baik Papua.
Sementara itu, Pj Gubernur Papua selain akan bertemu para atlet dan ofisial, juga akan menyaksikan beberapa nomor pertandingan yang masih berpotensi mendapatkan medali seperti cabang olahraga renang dan catur. ***

The Governor arrived at Kualanamu Airport in Medan, Wednesday (18/9/2024), greeted by the Tor-Tor dance by the local PON committee.
Governor Limbong hopes that with the remaining time of the match, the athletes can add to the existing medals. As of September 17, 2024, Papua Province is ranked 13th with a total of 44 medals.
"The governor has set foot in Medan this afternoon to participate in the Closing Ceremony of PON XXI Aceh North Sumatra 2024 which will be held in the next 2 days."
"The Governor deliberately came 2 days before the end to encourage the Papuan sports ambassadors who are competing," explained the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Service, Jeri A. Yudianto, in a release received by the editor
According to Jeri, the Acting Governor is proud of the achievements shown by athletes after the expansion of the province.
In addition, Governor Limbong expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the entire Papuan contingent at PON XXI who persistently brought the good name of Papua.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Papua, in addition to meeting athletes and officials, will also witness several match numbers that still have the potential to get medals such as swimming and chess. ***
