Kontingen NPC Papua Resmi dilepas ikuti Peparnas 2024

JAYAPURA - Kontingen NPC Papua resmi dilepas mengikuti Pekan Paralimpiade Nasional (Peparnas) ke XVII di Solo, Jawa Tengah 2024.

Pelepasan oleh Penjabat Gubernur Papua,  Ramses Limbong di Kantor Gubernur setempat, Jl. Soa Siu Dok II, Kota Jayapura, Senin (23/9/2024).

"Saya minta dukungan seluruh masyarakat Papua bagi kontingen kita yang akan ke Peparnas Solo. Mari kita satukan energi dan doa kita untuk kesuksesan atlet-atlet kita.”

“Sebab keberhasilan kalian adalah kebanggaan kita semua. Ingatlah, kalian bukan hanya membawa nama pribadi, tetapi juga nama Provinsi Papua dan seluruh masyarakat," ujar Gubernur Limbong.

Sementara Peparnas XVII akan dibuka pada 5 Oktober 2024 di Stadion Manahan Solo oleh Presiden Joko Widodo. 

Sebanyak 193 atlet NPC Papua dipastikan bertanding pada 12 Cabang Olahraga (cabor) dengan menargetkan meraih 66 medali emas. 

Gubernur Limbong dalam arahannya optimis para atlet NPC Papua dapat meraih prestasi dan mengharumkan nama Papua. 

Hanya saja, lanjut dia, Peparnas bukan hanya tentang medali dan prestasi, tetapi juga membangun rasa percaya diri dan menunjukkan setiap individu, tanpa memandang latar belakang atau kondisi fisik, memiliki potensi yang luar biasa. 

"Tapi walau begitu saya tetap berharap para atlet dapat menunjukkan kemampuan terbaik dan menginspirasi banyak orang dengan prestasi yang diraih. Bertanding dengan sportif dan mudah-mudahan dapat meraih atau meningkatkan prestasi seperti yang diharapkan,” imbaunya.

Ketua NPC Papua, Jaya Kusuma optimis para atletnya dapat mencapai target medali  emas tersebut. 

"Kalau tahun 2021 tuan rumah, kita juara umum, tapi Peparnas 2024 kita optimis tetap berada di peringkat lima besar nasional,” kata dia.

Jaya Kusuma menambahkan target lima besar nasional sudah di buktikannya sejak Peparnas tahun 2012 di Riau. Kemudian Peparnas Jawa Barat 2016.

"Segingga untuk masuk lima besar nasional bisa kita capai," tandasnya. ***

The release by the Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong at the local Governor's Office, Soa Siu Street, Dok II, Jayapura City, Monday (23/9/2024).

"I ask for the support of all Papuan people for our contingent who will go to Peparnas Solo. Let's unite our energy and prayers for the success of our athletes."

193 Papuan NPC athletes are confirmed to compete in 12 sports with a target of winning 66 gold medals.

Governor Limbong in his direction is optimistic that Papuan NPC athletes can achieve achievements and make Papua proud.

However, he continued, Peparnas is not only about medals and achievements but also builds confidence and shows that every individual, regardless of background or physical condition, has extraordinary potential.

"But even so, I still hope that the athletes can show their best abilities and inspire many people with their achievements. Compete with sportsmanship and hopefully can achieve or improve achievements as expected," he urged.

Chairman of NPC Papua, Jaya Kusuma is optimistic that his athletes can achieve the gold medal target.

"If in 2021 we are the host, we are the overall champion, but in Peparnas 2024 we are optimistic that we will remain in the top five nationally," he said.

Jaya Kusuma added that the national top five target has been proven since Peparnas 2012 in Riau. Then the 2016 West Java National Competition.
