Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National LandAgency (ATR/BPN) Surya Tjandra, made a working visit to Papua Province, Wednesday (10/21/2020).
The visit aims to absorb the various problems faced by the Papua Provincial Government in the community.
Nevertheless, the short-term target that wants to be done is mapping indigenous areas so that future development programs involve them in it.
Surya Tjandra said in a statement to the press after the meeting.
As for realizing its short-term program, Surya hopes to support the Papua Provincial Government as well as districts and cities.
"Because we are also at the center in principle supporting what is a program of the Papua Provincial Government, more specifically in efforts to improve the welfare of the community in the field of ATR," he concluded.
Acting Secretary of Papua, Doren Wakerkwa acknowledged that solving indigenous land problems has often been a challenge for the Papuan Government in carrying out development.
He hopes that the visit of Wamena ATR /BPN can present a solution to the obstacles.
"At least from the results of this collaboration can be obtained understanding to then jointly take the next step," he said.
