Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal said he did not follow the process of establishing a Definitive Papuan Regional Secretary, as government and development services activities in Papua are currently running normally.

He did not even know about the outstanding Presidential Decree Number: 159/TPA in 2020 about the appointment of Dance Yulian Flassy as the Regional Secretary of Papua, signed by the Deputy for Administration of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of the Republic of Indonesia, Farid Utomo.

"I do not know about the Presidential Decree (about the establishment of the Papuan Regional Secretary). I haven't followed it myself, but in the meantime there's been a Regional Secretary".

"It means that the work activities in the Regional Secretariat run regularly no one is disturbed," he told reporters at the State House, Thursday (5/11/2020).

Even so, the Deputy Governor invites all parties to follow the process that is already underway. The office of Regional Secretariat is not the same as the regent, governor and deputy governor. 

"The secretariat is not a political office. So, we follow it well so that the best for us in Papua can be produced," Deputy Governor said.

The Deputy Governor on occasion ensured that the Papua Province wanted to show the Indonesian government that the easternmost province in the archipelago, obeyed the law and principles. Papua even wants to set an example for Indonesia.

It's just that he hopes not to let the rules that have been in effect not be implemented properly.
