The Education, Regional Library and Archive Department (DPPAD) of Papua Province received 12,250 masks from the State Electricity Company main unit of Papua and West Papua.
The masks worth Rp 167,560,000 will be distributed to students and teachers in the Central Mountains of Papua.
"Yesterday, we received assistance from the State Electricity Company then the mask will be handed over to students and teachers of the central mountains".
"This also coincides with the school which will open early next year. So we need a lot of masks. That's why on several occasions we appreciate the support from State Electricity Company," explained the Head of DPPAD Papua Christian Sohilait, in Jayapura, Tuesday (1/12/2020).
Christian hopes that not only the State Electricity Company will intervene to help. But all stakeholders in Papua also pay attention to Papuan children currently being received education especially during the current Pandemic.
"Schools will begin, all students are required to wear masks so this assistance is very helpful for us," he said.
Senior Manager of Human Resources and General Secretary of State Electricity Company, Main Unit of Papua and West Papua Region John S. Yarangga said the assistance as a form of concern for students and teachers in Papua.
"There are 12 thousand masks distributed until finally this program was approved, namely the distribution of masks to students in Papua, especially the Central Mountains of Papua.
"Indeed, the number of 12 thousand if seen from the number of students in Papua that reaches 680 thousand then this is said to be a little but we will continue to try to hopefully there is more help from the stakeholder to donate to students in Papua," he explained.
Head of D2WNG (Doing Deep and Wise for New Generation) Community Dian Kandipi said that her party proposed the assistance of masks to the State Electricity Company because it gets information that there are still many students in Papua who still need masks.
"Several times the Head of the Education, Regional Library and Archive Department Papua was forced to close the face-to-face learning process because the students did not wear masks. So we try to initiate the mask assistance and it is happy to be realized," he concluded.
