The Papua Provincial Government encouraged the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately issue a Decree (SK) appointing caretaker regent of Yalimo Regency.
This is so that the wheels of government in the district run better, after the burning of offices and shops in Elelim District, due to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) that disqualified the participation of the spouses of candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent Yalimo Erdi Dabi-Jhon Wilil.
This was conveyed by Papua Regional Secretariat, Doren Wakerkwa in Jayapura on Thursday.
Nevertheless, he ensured that the current conditions and situation in Yalimo Regency have been conducive to post-riot on Tuesday (6/29/2021).
The Regional Secretary of Yalimo Regency, Isak Yando now serves as the Daily Executor (Plh) of the local Regent, in order to fill the temporary vacancy.
"The point is about Yalimo, the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe has proposed his Regent's Caretaker. Until now we are still waiting for the process from the Ministry of Home Affairs. We hope to get off the decree next week," he hoped.
Doren hopes that the Secretary of Yalimo Regency, as the daily executor of the regent can carry out government duties.
The efforts to maintain the situation and conditions in order to remain conducive are the main things that need to be done with the Indonesian Army / Police. On the other hand, conduct reconciliation efforts with the relevant parties, so that previous unrest no longer occurs.
