JAYAPURA - The Pesparawi contingent was asked to maintain the reputation of the region when participating in the National Level XIII Ecclesiastical Choir Party in Yogyakarta, 19-26 June 2022.
This was conveyed by the Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretary, Derek Hegemur, to the press in Jayapura, Friday.
Derek, who the day before released the Papuan contingent, at Sasana Krida, Papua Governor's Office, Jayapura City, hoped that the parties involved could make Papua proud at the national event.
"Moreover, festivals are not something ordinary because they are related to religion. The festival is also part of the expression of Christian. Hopefully, the spirituality of Christians will be further awakened through this festival,"he hoped.
Previously, the Head of LPPD of Papua Province, Elia Loupatty said, a total of 285 participants from Papua took part in the national-level Pesparawi in Yogyakarta. They will compete in 12 contested categories.
"We are grateful that Papua can participate in all the categories that are contested. Hopefully there is something we can bring back to Papua, because the competition is very tough. These 34 provinces are ready to go to Yogyakarta," he said.
He also hoped that the participants could maintain the name of the region while in Yogyakarta and show a good attitude.
"First we want to appear with confidence to praise and glorify God. I also convey to the participants to be orderly from arriving until they return home," he concluded. ***
