JAYAPURA - The Papua Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) continues to work hard to minimize hacker attacks on the server data.
One of these efforts is to cooperate with the State Cyber and Password Agency (BSSN) to detect hacker attacks.
According to the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department of Papua, Jeri A. Yudianto, his party was given an application called Honeypot from BSSN which functions to detect the vulnerability of hacker attacks on servers of the Papua Provincial Government's.
The application will monitor server security every day.
"And of course this cooperation is very beneficial to us. We are increasingly protected by the data," explained Jeri in Jayapura, Thursday (29/9/2022).
Jeri admits, local government sites have often received attacks from hackers or hackers so far. However, the hacker attack did not reach the server data.
"This means that the hacker attack is still limited to change the appearance of certain Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) sites or Papua Provincial Government sites"
"Or it's called a website deface attack. So it's just on the outside, it hasn't gotten inside or the data section. This attack has been experienced several times," Jeri said.
Although it has not threatened the server data, Jeri stated that his party periodically updates the server security system, both licensed and open source.
"It's called the digital world that's not completely secure. So even if our stronghold is extraordinary, there must still be loopholes. Therefore, we pay close attention to the server security system of the Papua Provincial Government," he said.
He added that the viral case of the Bjorka hacker attack is the local government needs to be aware of. Therefore, every local government is asked to be more vigilant in securing government data on the server.
"It's very vulnerable that the hacker can retrieve data on government servers. Especially to the point of doing a remote server. It should not happen," he said. ***
