JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government guarantees that there is no shortage of staples or fuel ahead of Christmas on December 25, 2022 and New Year on January 1, 2023.
This was conveyed by the Assistant for Economic Affairs and People's Welfare of the Regional Secretary of Papua, Muhammad Musa'ad in Jayapura, Wednesday (7/12/2022).
"So far, there are no goods (staples) in scarcity including fuel. The company has even conveyed a lot of stock,"
"So our community is urged not to be afraid of unclear information. The point is that staples and fuel stocks are available," explained Musa'ad.
He also ensured that inflation, or the increase in prices of goods and services in general in Papua, fell to 4.6 from 7.6 percent.
"It means it’s good and we will continue to collaborate with all parties to ensure stock must be available," he said.
Meanwhile, if stocks experience scarcity due to the "x" factor, Musa'ad ensures that the Papua Provincial Government will carry out market operations.
"Including rolling out cheap markets and other related things. Also make sure there are no rogue traders and mess around or do hoarding. There will definitely be an enforcement of the Papuan Food Task Force," he said. ***
