JAYAPURA - The second victory of Korpri Papua Women's Volleyball, keeps hope for the Papuan team to compete for medals in the knockout phase.
Competing against the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, at the State Islamic University (UIN) Walisongo Campus, Semarang, Sunday (16/7/2023), the Papuan Women's Volleyball team won in three straight sets. The Korpri Papua Women's Volleyball Team was confirmed to qualify for the round of 16.
"With this victory, Papua has certainly qualified for the knockout round. We have six points and if tomorrow (Monday) we win, automatically it becomes the leader of the standings," explained the coach of Korpri Papua Women's Volleyball, Frengki Saweri, after the match.
He said that the performance of the Papuan team this time had improved compared to the previous match against the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. In addition to having begun to adapt to the building where they competed, the Papuan team got enough warm-up time, so that they were able to show good performance.
"Now they are warming up longer and fitting into the building, so the team's performance better than yesterday"
"I hope the match will be as consistent as today and although it is not decisive, we will try to get full points because of my motivation, every game is a final."
It is known, the Korpri Papua Women's Volleyball team will play against West Kalimantan on Sunday. Both teams must win to sit at the top of the table. ***
