JAYAPURA - The Daily Executive of Papua Governor Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun realized his commitment to encouraging the acceleration of development in the new autonomous region (DOB).
This commitment is shown by handing over the use of the Program Information System (BANGGA Papua) and other Shared Application Systems to the Provincial Government of Southwest Papua to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Old Age Protection Program (PAITUA) which is a social protection program and the Implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).
The handover took place in Sorong, Monday (17/7/2023) by the Acting Governor Ridwan Rumasukun, to the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua, Muhammad Musa'ad witnessed by the Head of the Regional Apparatus Organization.
"Papua Provincial Government hopes that the BANGGA Papua Information System and the Sharing Application System will be effective tools in realizing the PAITUA program and equitable, transparent, and measurable governance management."
"In this system, there are features that facilitate data management, scheduling distribution to beneficiaries and reporting. This system also has the ability to integrate data with the information systems of channel institutions and other information systems, thus enabling more holistic analysis and more appropriate decision-making," explained Governor Ridwan, on the sidelines of the activity.
Ridwan explained, Papua Provincial Government has developed several application systems to support government performance, which in 2018, had implemented the Papua Prosperous Generation and Family Building Program (BANGGA).
This program was developed by Papua Province in collaboration with development partners through the Kompak program and the Mahkota Program, a collaboration between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of Australia, one of which ensures accountable program governance.
The goal is to build Indigenous Papuan Human Resources (OAP) by improving the nutrition and health of children aged four years and under.
"This system will assist in managing beneficiary data, a transparent and accountable distribution process, and enable more effective monitoring and evaluation of program performance and government service performance".
"Information system is not enough. The successful implementation of a system depends on the commitment and strong support from the provincial government of Southwest Province and all parties involved in the implementation of the program. Close collaboration, good coordination, and a shared understanding of the goals and benefits of this system will be the key to success," said Ridwan.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua Muhammad Musa'ad appreciated the support of the Papua Provincial Government.
He hopes that gradually the application system that has been developed can be applied immediately, to support the acceleration of development and governance in Southwest Papua. ***
