JAYAPURA - The Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun gave a stern warning to civil servants who are not neutral in the upcoming 2024 political year.
He did not hesitate to impose severe sanctions on civil servants who were proven to be involved in practical politics, because their performance was also assessed by superiors in the central government, including Acting Regents and Mayors in Papua.
"If proven to violate neutrality, the State Civil Servant or the acting head of the region can be severely sanctioned.
"Therefore, civil servants and acting regional heads are expected to be neutral and impartial to certain candidates. Thus, the 2024 General Election can run smoothly and democratically," explained Ridwan at the 2024 Regional Election Coordination Meeting at the Papua Governor Office, Thursday (2/11/2023) morning.
Rumasukun added that the neutrality of civil servants and acting regional heads is very important in the 2024 General Election.
This is part of efforts to ensure the implementation of General Elections runs fairly and democratically.
It is known that in the Regional Coordination Meeting, Governor Ridwan also signed the Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD) for the 2024 regional election budget.
The signing of the NPHD was carried out together with the KPU and the General Election Supervisory Agency Papua as well as the Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Police. ***
