JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun invited the state civil apparatus (ASN) in Keerom Regency, to become the foster father of stunting children, to overcome the problem of long-term lack of nutritional intake in the region.
This was conveyed by Governor Rumasukun during his working visit at the West Arso Health Center, Keerom Regency, Wednesday (8/11/2023). The presence of the Governor to Keerom to deliver assistance accelerated the reduction of stunting.
"If possible, the regent of Keerom, for all civil servants in Keerom to be foster fathers for children who are stunted."
"If around 400 children are stunted, maybe 1 person is funded for 6 months with two racks of egg every month. Why should we do this, because these children are expected to be the next generation of development in 2045," said Rumasukun.
While stunting data measured by 11 districts or 12 health centers in Keerom, there are 469 stunting sufferers. The highest was in West Arso with 141 stunting.
"For this reason, please support all communities in Keerom, because stunting reduction must be done together, there must be collaboration and cannot be alone.
"Not only stunting, but alsoeducational activities. So that these children are ready to face change in 2045, by filling the independence to replace us to continue development," he said. ***
