JAYAPURA - The Papuan Family Welfare Empowerment Driving Team (TP PKK) continues to move quickly to overcome the problem of stunting in Papua.
A total of 600 packages of Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) were handed over to cadres of Integrated Service Post during their visit to Jayapura City and Keerom Regency, Wednesday (8/11/2023).
The day before, 300 packages of PHBS were also handed over to cadres of Integrated Service Post in Jayapura Regency, along with 25 units of baby scales and body scales.
Head of Papuan Family Welfare Empowerment Driving Team, Linda Onibala said PHBS is one of the important keys in the prevention and handling of stunting or dwarfism, in addition to providing Supplementary Food or fulfilling adequate and balanced nutritional intake.
Keeping the body and home environment clean is also an important effort in preventing stunting.
"So we need to cultivate healthy and clean living behaviors in the community from now on. That's why we provide clean living equipment packages for families at risk of stunting in every work visit."
"The point is the fulfillment of nutrition, but a clean and healthy lifestyle must go hand in hand. In order to support the growth and development of children and stunting, we can reduce it to a minimum rate," said Linda.
She also hopes that the Regents and Mayors can encourage the heads of agencies in their regions to become foster fathers of stunting children for six months running. Because the costs incurred are not much to finance one child at risk of stunting.
"Simply buy eggs or other extra food every month for the next six years. I think if this is implemented, stunting will be zero in 2024," she said. ***
