JAYAPURA - A total of 115 local governments from 11 countries attended the opening of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) in 2023 for eastern Indonesia. The national agenda is centered at Papua Bangkit Stadium, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Tuesday (11/14/2023).
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Johanis Tanak said the road to Hakordia agenda was a momentum to build a commitment to eradicate corruption through prevention and enforcement.
One way to do this is by socializing understanding of corruption to the wider community.
"The Corruption Eradication Commission wants to cooperate with law enforcement officials (APH) and government internal supervision officers (APIP) at various levels of government, ranging from provinces, districts, to cities. In addition, regional leaders, such as governors, mayors, and regents are also involved in this effort."
"It's better to prevent than to cure. Therefore, prevention efforts are the main focus in eradicating corruption," he said.
Director of Coordination and Supervision of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Budi Waluyo said, the Hakordia activity is a series of Hakordia commemorations which will be held on December 9, 2023.
This activity began with a number of events, including talk shows, fun walks, socialization and media discussions.
"The peak of the Road to Hakordia takes place on November 14 and 15. In these two days, seminars will be held to strengthen commitment and synergy to eradicate corruption," he said.
The Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun, saidthat the provincial and district / city governments fully support efforts to prevent and eradicate corruption.
All parties in Papua, continued Ridwan, are ready to collaborate and synergize in overcoming corruption problems.
"We are ready and we join hands, cooperate and collaborate in the prevention and eradication of corruption to achieve Advanced Indonesia," he said. ***
