JAYAPURA - The Christmas worship celebration of the 2023 Papua Family Welfare Empowerment was centered at GKI Getsemani Kasukwe, South Sarmi District, Sarmi Regency, on Thursday (11/30/2023) morning.
The devotional celebration commemorating the Nativity of Jesus Christ was held simply with widows, elderly and orphans in the district with the nickname "City of 1000 Waves".
Acting Chairman of Papua Family Welfare Empowerment Linda Onibala admitted that she was proud to have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in Sarmi Regency. Previously the implementation was centered in the provincial capital.
Therefore, Linda hopes that the presence of Papua Family Welfare Empowerment can encourage related parties in Sarmi Regency to implement community and family empowerment programs in the local area.
"More specifically, to reduce stunting, this is also our concern in encouraging the creation of Papua's golden generation in 2045," she said.
Acting Chairman of Family Welfare Empowerment of Sarmi Regency Imelda Mansnembra hopes that the relationship that has been built, can continue to be established and maintained.
So that programs in the future will be carried out properly and also have an impact on the community in Sarmi Regency.
Meanwhile, the Christmas celebration service of Family Welfare Empowerment, Widows, Elderly, and Orphans, took the theme "glory to God and peace on Earth." Acting Chairman, Linda Onibala on the occasion distributed 500 packages of staple food to widows, the elderly and orphans.
Then handed over 300 PHBS packages and 25 units of baby scales to each local Integrated Service Post.
Cash assistance was also handed over to the head of GKI Kasukwe, Sarmi. ***
