JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun assisted in the development of facilities and infrastructure in the form of providing clean water, prayer room and grass tripe machines in Class III women prisons in Jayapura, Thursday (14/12/2023).
The assistance was in response to Governor Ridwan who answered the prison residents' request while accompanying the Working Group I of the Central Family Welfare Empowerment, in the Field of the Family Character Building for Women and Children who have face-to-face meetings with local assisted residents.
The Chairman of Papua Family Empowerment and Welfare, Linda Onibala and all staff also presented at the activity.
"Regarding the demand for clean water, we fulfill everything, including Musholla, which has been requested, the cost will be calculated immediately. The point is that if you can work today, do it," Ridwan explained to the press, on the sidelines of the visit.
According to Ridwan, fostered residents are an inseparable part of the community outside prison. Therefore, Family Empowerment and Welfare together with the Government of Papua feel the need to support.
"So that when they are free or return to the community, it is hoped that all parties and even families can accept it," he hoped.
Head of Jayapura Class III Women's Prison, Hanna Sinurat appreciated the visit of Central Family Empowerment and Welfare, Papua Family Empowerment and Welfare and Acting Governor Ridwan Rumasukun.
Moreover, their presence directly answered all the complaints of local fostered residents.
"We appreciate the presence of the governor who came with the Family Empowerment and Welfare entourage and provided clean water, prayer rooms and grass tripe machines," she said.
In addition to visiting the Jayapura Class III Women's Prison, the Governor together with the Central Family Empowerment and Welfare visited Muara Tami Junior High School in Jayapura City and held meetings with teachers, students and parents on family resilience intervention training. ***
