JAYAPURA - The Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Papua Province handed over 420 packages of staple food for non-Muslim Indigenous Papuans (OAP), on Wednesday (12/20/203), in Jayapura City.
The Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun appreciated the blessings from the Baznas. He hopes the package can be distributed on target and received by the entitled parties.
"The provision of this assistance is very beneficial for non-Muslim OAP communities. Moreover, the December sharing program from Baznas aims to improve the welfare of the community," said Governor Rumasukun in a written speech read by the Head of the Papua Provincial Fisheries Service Iman Djuniawal, on the sidelines of the handover of the aid.
According to Iman, the provision of assistance is also expected to apply the regulations so that it can be accounted for as it should.
"We hope Baznas can also account for this ZIS fund to foster public trust so that it will increase the number of collections,"he hoped.
Chairman of Papua Banzas, Ir. H Merza Edy Nadzar said in addition to handing over staple food packages, his party also provided cash of IDR 200 thousand.
"This is a routine program of the Baznas of Papua province to target for Indigenous Papuans, especially non- Muslims".
"The handover of this assistance is expected to ease the burden for those who celebrate Christmas," he said. ***
