JAYAPURA - The 2024 Papua Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) set by Acting Governor Ridwan Rumasukun, is a reference for employers to provide salaries for employees.
Head of the Wage and Social Security Section of the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs of Papua, Theodora Jumelia Rumparmpam said there was a threat of administrative sanctions to the closure of the company for related parties if they gave wages below the UMP value this year.
"It's just that the company still pays the salaries of its employees according to the company's ability as well."
"Then minimum wage payments are not all generalized between managers and ordinary employees. This means that starting this year, payroll has used a paid structure based on job class," she said in Jayapura on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Papua Provincial Minimum Wage in 2024 is set at IDR 4,024,270 per month or an increase of 4.13 percent from the previous one.
Papua Provincial Minimum Wage is effective from January 1, 2024, by the decree of the Governor of Papua.
In this regard, she appealed to all companies in Papua to immediately pay employees according to UMP 2024.
"So far there have been no complaints that entrepreneurs have not paid according to UMP. It hasn't been a month running either."
"Throughout 2023, we have received hundreds of complaints. Start from wages not following UMP, employee wages that are not paid to termination of employment. Of course, all complaints will be our concern," she said. ***
