JAYAPURA - Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Derek Hegemur instructed all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in the local area to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD) and carry out budget efficiency in each of their agencies, in the 2024 fiscal year.
This was stated by Secretary Derek, responding to the fiscal value of the Papua Provincial Government which was only worth IDR 2.69 trillion. This figure is far below the value managed by the Papua Provincial Government in previous years.
"During the transition period in 2023 and 2024, the fiscal condition is depressed. Money managed by the Papua Provincial Government is like never before. Therefore, the Papua Provincial Government chose to strive for the PAD to grow. So that spending that has been relied on from transfer funds, can move using PAD."
"We must streamline government spending, but services must continue to run as they should," explained Regional Secretary Hegemur, after submitting the 2024 Papua Regional Apparatus Work Unit Budget Implementation Document (DPA), on the 9th Floor of the Governor's Office, Jayapura City, Tuesday (1/23/2024).
He also reminded Regional Apparatus Organizations not to enter into contracts with third parties (contractors), if the project or activity in question, funds are not available in the DPA.
"So that we avoid debt. Therefore, government spending (must be appropriate) in DPA. The point is spending under the authority and affairs carried out by the province. So there is spending efficiency", he said.
Hegemur also reminded the Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations to manage their respective inventory money wisely. So it will be maximum in fulfilling the main tasks and functions given.
It is known that the DPA of the Papua Regional Apparatus Work Unit 2024 was handed over to 4 heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations within the local government. The DPA was handed over by Acting Papua Secretary Derek Hegemur representing the Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun. ***
