JAYAPURA - To ensure the sustainability of development for the next 20 years, the Papua Provincial Government held a Public Consultation on the Preliminary Draft of the Papua Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) in 2025-2045.
The activity was opened by the Acting Assistant Secretary of Papua for Government Affairs, Yohanis Walilo, on Tuesday (1/30/2024), at Aston Hotel, Jayapura City.
"The preparation of the Papua Province RPJPD document for 2025-2045 is the main reference to maintain consistency in the stages of development of Papua Province in the next 20 years," said Walilo in his speech, on the sidelines of the activity.
According to Walilo, the public consultation agenda is a series of stages of RPJPD preparation, through which topics of problems, strategic issues and policy interventions can be mapped within the next 20 years.
On the other hand, ensuring the alignment of the RPJPD with the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), Papua Development Acceleration Master Plan (RIPPP) and Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW).
Because the measurable RPJPD can be a solid foundation in the preparation of the technocratic Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) that still pays attention to aspects of alignment and respect for the customary, cultural and religious values of the community, especially Indigenous Papuans (OAP)
"For example, the alignment of 5 RPJPN visions and 8 RPJPN missions for a golden Indonesia in 2045, 5 areas of transformation of development direction include social, economic, governance, rule of law, stability, and leadership as well as socio-cultural and ecological resilience."
"Then, in achieving the targets of Healthy Papua, Smart Papua, and Productive Papua in RIPPP," he said.
Walilo added, that the implementation of the RPJPD evaluation is also a strategic momentum and commitment of the Papua Provincial Government, showing evidence of transparency and accountability in the implementation of long-term development planning, where the results of this evaluation can provide a comprehensive and holistic analysis of the achievements of the implementation of the Papua Provincial RPJPD in 2005-2025.
Secretary of the Papua Regional Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda) Vera Wanda added that through the forum, it is expected to produce an initial draft of the Papua RPJMD. The design will be a reference for the development of Papua in the next 20 years. ***
