JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government handed over agricultural machinery for processing chili crops, for farmer groups in Arso 9, Keerom Regency, Thursday (2/22/2024) evening.
The handover by the Head of the Papua Agriculture and Food Office Semuel Siriwa represented Governor Ridwan Rumasukun, who also answered the complaints of local farmers.
"Yesterday (Tuesday, ed) after harvesting and planting chili in Arso 9, Inteimelyan Village, Skamto District, Keerom Regency, Governor immediately answered farmers' complaints during the dialogue."
"Farmers complain about lack of equipment in managing land and watering crops. The Governor of Papua immediately responded and aided through relevant agencies to answer the complaint," explained Head of Service Jeri A. Yudianto, in a release received by the editor.
Meanwhile, the agricultural equipment assistance handed over was in the form of 4 units of cultivators, 2 units of water pumps and 2 meters of hoses with funding sources from the Regional Budget of Papua Province.
It is hoped that the assistance of agricultural machinery will spur farmers to further increase their productivity to maintain the availability of chili commodity supplies.
As well as reducing the inflation rate in Papua Province as President's instruction.
Previously, the Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun together with his ranks harvested chili in a one-hectare field, in Arso 9, Intaimelyan Village, Skamto District, Keerom Regency, Tuesday (20/2/2024).
The Acting Governor was present accompanied by the Acting Chairman of the Driving Team of Empowerment and Family Welfare, Linda Onibala along with the Heads of the Regional Apparatus Organization and representatives of the Keerom Regency Government. ***
